Daily Makeup

Daily Makeup

If there is one thing that I love more than clothes than it's makeup, I have an obsession with high end and high street makeup. I tend to buy a lot of my makeup in Boots and Superdrug but I do occasionally splash out. This is makeup that you will tend to see me wearing on a typical day, it sometimes varies but this is what I tend to wear of a day or a night.

Foundation - Studio Fix Fluid When I went to New York in 2010, I decided to try out Mac before then I had really trouble finding a colour with good coverage and one which wouldn't make me look orange. The makeup artists found my colour.. and I haven't looked back. I would recommend Mac foundation to everyone I know that it's a bit pricey but it's seriously worth the money I would never use another foundation again.

Concealer - Collection Lasting Perfection - The amount of concealers I've gone through in the last few years is unreal I think I've tried every drugstore concealer there is. I have only been using this one for a few months and it's absolutely amazing the coverage is flawless, I think this is as good of a concealer as you can get. It is also seriously cheap so it makes up for the costly foundation.

Face Powder - Maybelline FIT ME - I have to say I really liked this powder to start with but I've recently gone off it. The powder gives you really good coverage and lasts for a long time on your face. The only problem I find with this is that it can make you look incredibly orange on a high tech camera. I spend a lot of time in front the camera (i'm a film and televison student) and when finally in natural light it can make you look really dark. Would anybody be able to recommend a powder that won't make me go so orange?

Blusher - Nars Orgasm - This blush is quite frankly the best thing I have ever bought, I brought this in the summer when I was in America and although I think that Nars is incredibly pricey it is such a good blusher that I would definitely get it again, the colour is sensational and last's all day which I think is really great as very few blushers do these days.

Eye Shadow - Urban Decay -Naked 2 - This is the only eye shadow that I will wear, it is quite literally the best eye shadow out. Again this is very expensive but I think it is most definitely worth it. The is a variety of colours that you can mix to get different combinations. Each of the colours are great and I use every single one of them.

Eyeliner - Rimmel Eyeliner Pencil and Rimmel Exaggerate-Eyeliner - When it comes to eyeliner I don't think there is anyone better than Rimmel, I swear by these. The exaggerate eyeliner is great if you know how to apply it, if you're a beginner I wouldn't recommend this as it can be tricky to apply. The colouring of this is great as it never fades, also similar to the pencil the colour never fades and doesn't make you look like you have bags after a long day.

Eyebrow pencil - Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil - I have always hated my eyebrows because they were so dark, thick and bushy, but after learning how to take care of them I literally swear by this product, I think that eyebrow are the most important feature to your face, good eyebrows can go a long way. This product is incredibly cheap and worth the money if they have your colour.

Lipsticks - There are two types of lipsticks that I stand by - MUA & Rimmel - Kate. MUA are great as they are only £1 and for a day to day lipstick I will use shade 6, I think it's a great bright colour which lasts all day. For an evening or going out look I always go to Rimmel and I recently purchased Kate 107. This lipstick is rated so highly and I know so many people that have got it. I think these are a must have.

Make up brushes - MAC Foundation Brush and Real Techniques Blush Brush - MAC brushes are very expensive but they are absolutely amazing I think that they are worth it if you want a brush that is going to last you a long time and still manage to give you excellent coverage. The blush brush is the only Real Techniques brush that I own, I would love some more for Christmas I think that these are amazing because they are so soft and smooth, they feel so nice against your face.

Until Next Time

Favourites of the Summer

Favourites of the Summer

These are some of the things I have been loving this summer so I thought as summer is coming to an end :( I would do this post.

1) Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash - After weeks of searching for some oil free face wash I finally found Neutrogena. Before buying this I had never used Neutrogena before but it will certainly be a re-purchase. Just to let you know, I have the worse skin in the world and this stuff is amazing my skin in now clear after using this for 6 weeks, so I mean if it clears up mine I'm sure it will work on anyones. I would recommend this if your skin is very oily (like mine) because it works wonders.

2) Naked 2 palette from Urban Decay - As you know I brought this palette in America and it is literally the greatest thing I have ever brought, I love it so much. The colours are amazing the brush is amazing, everyone needs to buy this.

3) Yves Saint Laurent Luxurious Mascara For A False Lash Effect - Is it normal to spend £24 on a mascara?? probably not but it's Yves Saint Laurent so who cares. I got this mascara ages ago but I absolutely love it, I personally think it's one of VSL's best mascara as they have been a bit hit and miss recently. If you're willing to pay this much for a mascara then I would definitely recommend getting it.

4) Natural Collection Body Spray - I love these body sprays so much they are absolutely amazing, they smell wonderful and last for ages. These bottles are only £2 and I think they are an absolute steal everyone needs one of these and they won't break your bank balance.

5) Miss Selfridge Petites Denim Pinafore Dress - I actually brought this just before the summer and I love it so much, I've worn it on so many occasions. I sometimes think that Miss Selfridge can be a bit expensive but I managed to get this for £20 as it was the last one in the shop. (shocker there is never anything usually in my size) Pinafores have been a massive hit for the spring/summer trend and i'm so thankful for that because I love it.

6) Urban Outfitters denim skirt - I also brought this in America as I stated on a previous post and I'm unsure of how much this costs in pounds but it was $50... so if anyone can work that out? I do think Urban Outfitters is overly expensive but their clothes are lovely so i'll let them off. I wouldn't usually spend this much on a skirt but I though hey-ho I'm on holiday lets go all out. If you have the money to spend then I would say go get it as it's one of my favourite pieces.

7) Collection concealer - Before I confuse anyone Collection has changed their name removing the '2000' so now it's just Collection. This is my most used beauty product ever (other than my mac foundation) it's literally the best concealer out there. It's very cheap at just over £4 (i can't remember the actual price) it has the best coverage of any concealer I have used, high street and high end. It covers up redness, dark circles and scars and you get a lot of product so it's a winner all round.

Naked 2 and Nars blush

Friday, 23 August 2013
Wow so summers nearly over, well for me anyway. I have one full week left and then off to college. Anyway this has been my post holiday reflection week. However here's a review of the two make up products I brought in America.

This was the first time I had brought make up in America which wasn't Mac, I discovered my love for Mac when I went to New York 2 years ago. Back to present time and before I went to Florida I knew that there were two products I had to buy.

The first product I have here is the Naked 2 palette.
Over the past couple of years I have heard so many reviews for not only the Naked 2 palette but the first one and the basic palette. I knew I had to get this because I hadn't heard a bad review. When I went over to the women selling it to me, she said how I was lucky it was in stock because it's normally always sold out which was a relief because I didn't really want to be searching round Florida for it. Here is what the palette includes:

Foxy- Cream w/ matte finish
Half Baked- Golden/Bronze- mainly gold w/ shimmery finish
Bootycall- Cork w/ slight shimmer
Chopper- Copper w/ shimmery
Tease- Brown/Purple undertones w/ matte finish
Snakebite- Brown-very dark w/ shimmery finish & metallic base
Suspect- Slightly darker than beige w/ golden shimmery finish
Pistol- Grey w/ shimmery finish
Verve- tint of pink neutral w/ loads of shim to give it a great finish
YDK- bronze shimmer w/ metallic base
Busted- Very dark brown w/ shimmery finish
Blackout- Black w/ matte finish - perfect for eyeliner

While I don't have the first Naked palette I know it's a lot darker than the Naked 2 palette therefore that palette is better if you want to have more smoky eyes. Naked 2 has a lot more neutral shades which can be explored if you mix a couple shades up. My favourite two to mix are Tease and Suspect I love both of these colours with starting with a matte base and then building up to a shimmery finish. I think that if you're going to invest in a Naked palette then you either need to get the 1st or 2nd. At home we also have the Naked basic palette (although it isn't mine) I personally don't think it's that good because it only has the basic colours and I think it's better if you're just starting out using eyeshadow. However then I wouldn't buy a high end product if it was my first time.

I know that this palette is a lot of money at £37.00 I do think it's worth it however MUA do a dupe that is very similar to the Naked 2 which is only £5. It has all the similar colours but they aren't as good as the Naked palette for obvious reasons but if you want to try out something that is similar to the Naked palette then MUA is the best one to get.

The second product that I brought was Nars blush in the shade orgasm.

I am a lover of all blushers so I thought I would try out this one, it's the one that every youtuber has raved about at one point or another.

The colour is a bit different to what I expected it to be like, I had imagined it to be more pink but it has a nice peach tone to it, making it more subtle. The product isn't too heavy with an shimmery base to it which is nice because it gives the face a fresh look which is unusual when it comes to comparing it to something like Mac. Although it isn't as shimmery as super orgasm which is the next shade up. What I love about this blush is how pigmented it is, there is no chance of it fading throughout the day.

Sephora has said many times that this is the starter blush and I agree although it is expensive for what it is. I also have the lack of being able to get it in the UK with it only being sold in Selfridges in the UK... which is 4 hours away from me- lets hope that this doesn't run out too soon on me. However in the UK there are a couple of blushes that I know are similar for a smudge of the price. The first dupe is Sleek, for what it is Sleek is very cheap this dupe is only £4.49 like Nars it's pigmented and has that shimmer to it. I think that Sleek is only sold in Boots but it's a popular brand for blushers & bronzers. The other product is Milani Baked Powder Blush, this is the one which is closest to Nars, although because it's an American brand you can only get it on Amazon it is however only £5.00.

I think both of these products are very good and I would get them both, however there are others like them for a cheaper price.

What do you think of these products?
Is Nars too expensive?
What other eyeshadows do you think are as good as Urban Decay?
Any high street blushers I should try?

Until next time

Holiday post!

Sunday, 18 August 2013
Hello ya'll I've returned from my holiday in Florida which was absolutely amazing. I am currently in a post holiday depression state, anyhow this is kind of going to be about anything and everything about my holiday.

Okay so the idea of going to Florida was to go to all the parks it was my second time going I first went in 2009. The parks were absolutely amazing and everybody was so lovely I love all you Americans. The people their make you feel great and they are always smiling. I think my favourite Disney park was Magic Kingdom it's just every 5 year olds dream. I am the person that loves all the rollercoasters and they are amazing in Florida although very scary. Other than the parks we also went swimming with dolphins which was absolutely amazing but I sadly don't have any pictures because they're all printed:(

(yes this is me at the front)

The food was wow...literally every night we went out for a meal and I did not realize how big their portions were it was like actually ridiculous and they also have a lack of vegetarian foods which was kinda annoying although I still managed to gain loads of weight... oops. My favourite restaurant was the Hard Rock cafe the scenery in their was unbelievable, also the waiter was seriously hot and kept flirting (it was very embarrassing/awkward with my parents) Moving on enjoy me eating a veggie burger at Hard Rock.
(this is very attractive)

Now onto the main part... shopping. We didn't really do that much but I wasn't that bothered I had $200 dollars to spend so I brought a few things plus Disney merchandise. The two main things I wanted to get in America was the Naked 2 palette and Nars blush... and guess what?? I brought them both. My next post will be a review on both of them, but all I will say is that they are amazing. Away from the make up I brought two items of clothes. I brought a denim skirt from Urban Outfitters, I don't live anywhere near an Urban Outfitters at home (the nearest one is an hour away) so I was like yeah lets do this.

I love this skirt so much although i'm not entirely sure when I'm going to be able to wear it over here because the weather is awful and it's too cold to go out in something this short the majority of the time. I also went into American Apparel and I swear it was as though I stepped into heaven everything was so nice... and expensive. I brought a pair of easy jeans and they are so comfy it's actually unreal.

These are the exact ones I brought although they weren't in the colour I wanted because they had literally sold out in my size in nearly every colour (waaah) but I still love them and I think they are amazing. I wanted to buy everything in this damn shop but limited money left walking out with only one item.

Back to the parks and we went to both of the Universal's and when I went to Islands of Adventure I think I died and went to heaven. Ever since I can remember I have been a massive Harry Potter nerd and I was literally in my element at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It was the most amazing/magical experience ever. It was so good also because we eat at the restaurant their called the Three Broomsticks and it was literally like Hogwarts. They kept the theme as well with the majority of the people working their being English.

Incase you hadn't noticed it was very sunny (hence the squinting)

So that's a quick summary of my holiday, if you haven't been I would advise you to go Florida it's so cheap compared to the UK. Also my highlight of the holiday would have to be sprinting through Atlanta airport because our previous plane was delayed therefore nearly missing the plane back to England... or not.

Anyway hope you enjoyed this!

No posts from the 1st-18th August

Okay so I'm guessing that you have already realised that i'm going on holiday next week to... America hence the theme. I will be gone for just over 2 weeks so I won't be posting while I'm away, however when I get back I will probably do a few posts on what I wore during the day and during the evening.

Now it's my third time going to America I've been New York and Florida before. I am visiting Florida again yay the last time I went to Florida I was 12 and didn't have a clue about fashion. This year I plan on doing some major shopping I plan on buying the Naked 2 palette by Urban Decay, Nars blush and Mac lipsticks (they are so cheap). I also want to do some clothes shopping now I know American Apparel is a must and Forever 21 is usually pretty good (although it does remind me of Primark). I was wondering what are everybodies go to stores when they are in America? Just remember I'm in Florida and not NY or California so it's not massive for Shopping. Although I am going Miami for one day, has anyone been please tell me what it's like?

On another note after just a month of starting this blog I'm now over 1000 views, thank you so much it means the world to me x x
